We should not be surprised if the world...Yes, amen. We should not be surprised if the world hates us. If the world can hate God himself, surely it can hate me, a mere human.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2056051583786220639.post-52099690162191441702012-12-10T14:14:19.762-05:002012-12-10T14:14:19.762-05:00That’s a good point, although I was mostly using “...That’s a good point, although I was mostly using “narrow-minded” as a play on words.

Still, people outside the church will use any slur they can muster to feel to discredit Christianity. “The church is full of hypocrites.” “You’re too narrow-minded.” “Christians are intolerant.” That doesn’t make it true, so believers should not lose any sleep over the criticisms if they are unmerited. It comes with the territory. They killed Jesus, so insulting His followers should be expected.

Thank you for your comment. If thats's the case, then according to the true definition of narrow-minded, I wouldn't like to be (called) it, Christian or not. I think that my beliefs/faith should be strong enough for me to respectfully consider other people's beliefs, other options without fear, because I am confident that truth will always prevail, and that what/who I put my trust in will keep me in the right way.
I think seemimgly religious people use narrowmindedness to mask their fears of not having full confidence in what they profess with their mouths.
I'd consider it an honour to be called a "narrow way" Christian, but I'd really have to check myself if someone called me "narrow-minded", in the same way I'd have to check myself if someone called me unforgiving.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
