As Christians we should share our faith with other people, but sometimes people express their hesitation to do saying, "They won't believe me." There are many other points of view in the world--from atheism to a variety of religions--so we waver on sharing our faith.
It is normal to worry that people will not believe us, and even mock us. They will call us simple minded when we say we believe God is the Creator rather than Darwinian evolution. They will call us closed minded when we say Jesus is the exclusive way to the Father (as He said of Himself in John 14:6). They will call us hateful when we tell the truth, intolerant when we don't go along with sin, and hypocritical when we mess up.
We cannot let our fear of rejection keep us from sharing the message. Did you know that the very first act of evangelism was rejected? The first people to share the good news (the gospel) were laughed at and told they were wrong.
It's true. On Resurrection Morning, a group of ladies went to the tomb of Jesus to anoint His body with spices to mask the smell of decomposition, but when they arrived, the stone was rolled away from the entrance, and angels told them Jesus was alive.
They ran to tell the disciples, and Luke 24:11 tells us, "but these words seemed to them an idle tale, and they did not believe them."
The ladies were rebuffed by Jesus' disciples. Of all people, even the apostles chose not to believe the gospel because it is too good to be true. They eventually believed, of course, so we can also be encouraged to know that sometimes it takes multiple conversations before a person is ready to put their trust in Jesus.
Do not let your fear of being rejected keep you from sharing your faith. You might be planting a seed of faith that will grow in that person over time, or you might even be the one that finally helps the light come on; maybe someone else planted the seed and your words pushed them over the finish the line.
Who knows? Maybe the next person you share your faith with ends up being a disciple who turns the world upside down.
